I find though that China AIs minus the Tank General are fairly hard to beat with turtle tactics simply because their artillery - Inferno Cannons and Nuke Cannons, are immune to Avengers and ECM Tanks. It better balances the game and you might like the fixed Super Weapon General, where she can actually put up a good fight early game and turtle like she was intended. You might also like the 1.06 community patch. Although keep in the mind the AI is veeerry hard. You'd probably like the Advanced AI Mod Improved by AEI. ![]() Yeah, there's only so much you can do about the fact that they can manage more than any human realistically can.īut the AI basically just uses Attack Move so. Basically I'm a slow player, which for RTS isn't good, lm*o.įor me he really never even bothered to use much air force. Vanilla and Nuke China I actually find the hardest because they use the nuke cannon a lot, and my base defences will often be wiped before I can counter them. This is why I hate facing the Ai, on one hand, they can be easy to overcome by using turtle tactics, but because there is no delay and each unit created basically has a mind of it's own I find it difficult to keep track of everything they are doing. Totally agree, I beat him a while back by simply surrounding my base with a mix of Stinger Sites and Quad Cannons, then I just built up a force from then on and entered his (poorly defended) backdoor to rip him a new one. Thus, if you know what you're doing, you can defeat USA Air Force AIs pretty easily. Even Hard AI for him is just pathetic, it hardly uses its strengths. USA Air Force is also considered to be the strongest general in the default 1.04 version of ZH, but the AI for him wouldn't tell you that. This is especially easy against China Tank because they have zero artillery and China is just the slowest faction in the game not counting China Nuke. If you're playing as USA Super Weapon or Laser Generals, then you can just out-camp most AIs minus China armies (except for the Tank General), provided you have a boatload of Patriots everywhere with Pathfinders and Avengers by them and then you can just have your Auroras and Particle Cannons pick away at everything. Actually, there's no way to get around this without making the AI appear really, really stupid and make it too easy to beat. It also causes Humvees to only use their TOW Missiles but still.ĪI can always tell where your units are regardless of any map-revealing abilities or Fog of War. Because of a glitch, (caused by the Ranger weaponswitch in teams, I hear) Hard USAs can use the Missile Defender laser-lock weapon further than human players, use it instantly (without a delay), and target buildings with them. The extra cash thing is already mentioned but that also helps to show that they are darned cheaters. Hard AI can be hard to beat in certain cases, and just plain pathetic in others. ![]() Yeah but if you want to see in-depth how they work, the scripts will tell you more than the replay in some cases. (All participants are credited by their role circa 2001.) This is the story of that song, and the mark it made on System of a Down’s career, as told by the band and the people around them. Still, this censorship wouldn’t dent its momentum, and “Chop Suey!” recently became the first metal video to surpass one billion views on YouTube. “It’s just a blessing.” The song wouldn’t escape controversy: In the wake of 9/11, it was temporarily banned by radio giant Clear Channel because its lyrics appeared to endorse the occasional justification of “self-righteous suicide,” as Tankian sings in the chorus. “When we play that song live, there’s not a person in the crowd that doesn’t sing - even the ‘I’m too cool to sing’ heavy-metal kids,” bassist Shavo Odadjian says. The start-stop cadence of the verses, where Tankian sounds like he’s debating himself right before the chorus opens up into a soulful lament, remains indelible among rock singles from the era - part heavy-metal headbanger, part call-and-response rap record, part unfettered rock opera, and completely unlike anything else on the radio. Of every song on Toxicity, lead single “Chop Suey!” is the one that most resonates today. “I don’t know if it’s a naïve thing, but I say what’s on my mind.” “I’ve always spoken truth to power,” he says. It also bears the distinction of being the No. Produced by Rubin and containing their biggest singles, Toxicity was the delivery system ferrying System of a Down’s agitprop thrash to radio stations and crowds across America, turning them into unlikely superstars. Such is the legacy of System of a Down, whose breakthrough record Toxicity celebrates its 20th anniversary this month. But we were not going to write a song that sounded like Limp Bizkit so we could get on the radio. “Limp Bizkit was on the radio at the time - now, Limp Bizkit was actually very cool to us in the early days of System of a Down. “We weren’t playing the safe nu-metal riff that was going on at that time,” Malakian said. It goes gold before the band is even thinking about a follow-up. The closest thing to a single is a deranged cut of fuzz called “Sugar,” where Tankian howls about something called “the Kombucha mushroom people” before building to the kind of dizzying pitch that confuses household animals. Their first record is produced by the already legendary Rick Rubin - a big score for an unsigned band with a fervent local following. (And, lest we forget, they really rock.)īecause of the increasingly permissive state of rock radio in the ’90s, this formula is somehow not a turnoff to mainstream tastes, but acceptable. Their songs tackle war, genocide, American empire, organized religion, media bias, government control - the type of stuff you expect to hear from a leftist professor, not a rock band. Therefore it's no surprise Chrono Trigger has such an enormous fan base and I can certainly say that it has established itself as one of my favourite games of all time. The character designs also blend in well with the personality of the characters. It should also be noted that although the graphics in Chrono Trigger are now dated, at the time they were impressive in comparison to other RPG games released for the SNES. The game illustrates the emotions and ambitions of each character which gives the player a true understanding of each playable character and there relationship with the others in the group. Furthermore the characters integrate into the storyline magnificently, with each having there own side quests that allow for immense character development. ![]() Side quests and a special New Game+ option (accessible once completing the game) also enhance its replay value. However the game features so many twists that the storyline is never predictable and the multiple endings available, enable the game to alter according to the players own personality. Therefore if you're only interested in appearance then this is the wrong game for you, however if you are interested in original RPG's with a compelling storyline then I assure you that Chrono Trigger remains unrivalled. Since the release of Chrono Trigger many other interesting and unique games have emerged with graphics so advanced that in comparison Chrono Trigger is almost laughable. This game is truly a classic in every respect, with the most memorable characters ever featured in an RPG and a storyline that surpasses that of any other game in its genre. ![]() |
